Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit glucosensei.com and when you use the GlucoSensei mobile app, why it is collected, how it is used, and your rights under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). By using this website or the GlucoSensei app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Who We Are

2. GlucoSensei Mobile App

This section describes how the GlucoSensei mobile app handles your information. The remaining sections describe the glucosensei.com website. Where they differ, this section governs the app.

2.1 What the App Collects and Where It Goes

GlucoSensei is built to keep your health information on your device. The app has no user accounts, and it does not collect your name or email.

Glucose readings, meals, carbohydrate and nutrition entries, insulin doses, medications, and profile settings. Stored on your device in encrypted form. This information is sent to our server and our AI provider only when you choose to use Insights or Glucose Predictions.
Meal photos. Stored on your device. A photo is sent to our server and our AI provider only when you choose AI Meal Photo Analysis.
Subscription identifier. A RevenueCat customer ID generated for your installation, sent with AI requests so we can confirm your subscription is active.
Purchase history. Handled by Apple and RevenueCat through Apple’s In-App Purchase system.

The app does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking. We do not sell or share your information for advertising, and we do not link it to your activity on other companies’ apps or websites.

2.2 Who Processes Your Information

When you use an AI feature, the data for that feature is processed by:

Anthropic, PBC (United States), which generates the meal analysis, insight, or prediction. Anthropic processes the data only to return your result and does not use GlucoSensei data to train its models.
RevenueCat, Inc. (United States), which manages and verifies your subscription.
Vercel, Inc. (United States), which hosts the server that routes your AI request.
Apple, which processes in-app purchases.

When you search for foods, your search term, not your health data, is sent to the USDA FoodData Central database (United States) to look up nutrition information.

2.3 Storage Outside Canada

The service providers above are located in the United States. When you use an AI or food-search feature, the relevant information is processed in the United States and is subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access requests by U.S. authorities. If you do not use these features, your information stays on your device and is not transferred.

2.4 How Long We Keep It

Your logs and photos remain on your device until you delete them or use “Clear Data” in the app’s Settings. Data sent for an AI feature is processed in memory to produce your result and is not stored in our database. Information held by Anthropic, RevenueCat, and Apple is retained under their own data policies.

2.5 How We Protect It

Health information stored in the app is encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM, with the encryption key held in the iOS Keychain (or Android Keystore). All data sent to our server travels over encrypted HTTPS connections.

3. What Information the Website Collects

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

None. The glucosensei.com website has no forms, no account registration, no newsletter signup, and no way to make a purchase. There is nothing here for you to fill in, so there is nothing you type for us to collect. Subscriptions to the GlucoSensei mobile app are bought inside the app through Apple’s In-App Purchase system, described in Section 2.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

The website runs no analytics and sets no cookies, as described in Section 4. It does not build a profile of you and it cannot recognise you on a return visit.

Like almost every website, the server that delivers these pages keeps standard access logs. Each request is recorded with:

Your IP address
The date and time of the request
The page or file requested
Your browser and operating system, as reported by your browser
The referring page, if your browser sent one

These logs are created and held by our hosting provider (see Section 5). They are used only to keep the site running and secure, for example to diagnose an error or identify abusive traffic. They are not used for marketing or analytics, they are never combined with anything from the mobile app, and we do not attempt to identify you from them.

4. Cookies

This website sets no cookies. None at all.

There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no preference or session cookies, and no third-party cookies. The site also stores nothing in your browser’s local storage or session storage.

Because of this there is no cookie banner to accept, no consent to give or withdraw, and nothing to opt out of. You do not need to change any browser setting to visit this site privately. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated before it does, and this section will say so plainly.

5. Third-Party Services

The website loads no third-party resources. Its fonts, images, stylesheets and scripts are all served from glucosensei.com itself, so simply opening a page does not send your IP address to any other company. There is no embedded video, no map, no chat widget, no social media button, and no advertising network.

5.1 Hosting

The website is hosted by Web Hosting Canada, a Canadian hosting provider. They operate the server that delivers these pages and hold the access logs described in Section 3.2. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy and their agreement with us.

5.2 Links to the App Store

The download buttons on this site are ordinary links to Apple’s App Store. Nothing is sent to Apple while you are reading this website. Once you follow one of those links you are on Apple’s site, and Apple’s privacy policy applies from that point.

5.3 Services Used by the Mobile App

The app uses its own service providers, listed in Section 2.2. The website does not use any of them.

5.4 Services We Do Not Use

We do not use Google Analytics, Stripe, MailerLite, or any other analytics, payment, or email marketing service on this website. If we ever add one, this policy will be updated before it goes live.

6. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information described above for the following purposes only:

To operate, maintain, and secure this website and the GlucoSensei app
To deliver the app features you choose to use, as described in Section 2
To confirm your subscription is active, through Apple and RevenueCat
To prevent abuse, fraud, and other harmful activity
To comply with applicable laws and legal obligations

We do not use your information to advertise to you, to profile you, or to build a picture of you across other websites or apps.

7. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

From the website there is nothing to share. It collects nothing beyond the server access logs in Section 3.2, which are held by our hosting provider and used only to keep the site running.

From the mobile app, the only recipients are the service providers listed in Section 2.2, and only for the feature you asked for. They are contractually required to handle that data securely and only for the purpose we specify.

We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, or court order, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of glucosensei.com or its users.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary:

App health data: Stored on your device and kept until you delete it, as described in Section 2.4. We hold no copy of it.
AI feature requests: Processed in memory to produce your result and not written to any database of ours, as described in Section 2.4.
Server access logs: Held by our hosting provider for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then rotated and discarded under their retention practices.
Purchase records: Retained by Apple and RevenueCat under their own policies and applicable financial regulations.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at support@glucosensei.com. Note that health data in the app is on your device and never reaches us, so you can delete it yourself at any time using “Clear Data” in the app’s Settings.

9. Your Privacy Rights Under PIPEDA

As a resident of Canada, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Right to access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. Health information you enter in the app is stored on your device, so you can view it there at any time.
Right to correction: You may request that inaccurate or incomplete information be corrected. App data can be edited or deleted directly in the app.
Right to withdrawal of consent: You may withdraw your consent to the collection or use of your data at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.
Right to file a complaint: If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca or 1-800-282-1376.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use, or disclosure. The website is served only over HTTPS and loads no third-party code, which means there is no external script on these pages that could read or leak anything. The mobile app encrypts your health data on your device (see Section 2.5), and the app’s service providers maintain their own strong security standards.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children’s Privacy

This website and app are not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@glucosensei.com.

12. Links to Other Websites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
